Q: Local/AP photos aren't being
processed into the database.
A:
Check to see if the scanner is running.
Execute as digicol - psg scan. There should be one scanner running. If
not, try to restart it by changing directory to /dot/scripts (as digicol)
and execute ./procs start. Check the scanner process again to make sure
that it continues to run. If the scanner was running in the first place,
check the local/ap input logs located in /dot/logs or
/dot/dc4/work/logs. If the scanner dies again, check the logs as
previously described and there should be an indication as to why the
scanner continues to terminate within one of the logs.
Q: From a DC4 user: In what order are the
search results displayed?
A: The default is last in-first out
(LIFO), or in other words, the most recent items appear first. On most
search screens, a popup allows you to select from a list of alternative
sort orders.
Q: From a DC4 administrator: I made some
changes to a group's archive settings, and they don't seem to have
taken. Did I do something wrong?
A: Maybe, but before retracing your
steps make sure you have removed the server cache using the
administration tool. Also, make sure that your local browser is not
caching content (relaunching will help here) and is set to check for new
content on "every visit." Be aware that the procedure for changing these
browser settings differs from browser to browser, and by release.
Q: Is there a new DC3 or DC4 client available?
How can I download the latest version?
A: Call the Digital Collections
Customer Service center at 800-665-3780. The latest version of
the client or Quark extension can be emailed to you right away.
Q: We are changing our IP addresses, what do we
need to do for our Digital Collections system?
A: This will depend a great deal on the system you have. Please
call the Customer Support Line above for help.
